Custom jeans and great denims are popular to both sexes. That’s why you have to know the best tips on how to take care of your jeans. They tend to last for a long time and they tend to fit better as well when you treat them with extra care. Here are some things that you can do:
Checking the tag of custom jeans in Singapore
You have to check the cleaning instructions for the type of jeans you have which are often found on the tag inside the jeans. You may be able to find “prewashed” or “pre-distressed” which indicates that the jeans have gone through manufacturing processes that result to fading and shrinkage.
You have to be aware though that this type of jeans can still shrink and fade when they are washed and dried through hot temperature. Make sure that you wash it in cold water and to air dry it. It would be better to dry clean it too.
“Raw” or “dry” means that the jeans haven’t been washed and that the blue color isn’t set too.
“Single wash” means that the jeans have been soaked in cold water to soften the fabric and then the blue stint is set.
“Sanforized” means that the jeans have been preshrunk and that the jean fabric has been patented. There are no chemicals involve. But the jeans can still shrink when soaked in hot water.
“Unsanforized” or “shrink to fit” means that the jeans may still shrink to as much as 2” on the waist. The longer you soak them in hot water, the more the jeans will shrink.
On washing and drying
The more frequently you wash and wear your jeans, the more they would fade and the shorter their life span would be. There are many myths surrounding how often you should wash your jeans and how to store them. But nothing beats the best care you can give jeans which is gentlest washing and turning the jeans inside out. You can then soak them in the tub and agitate them less before you air dry them.
On soap and detergent use
The best way to go would be to use the mildest laundry soap or detergent to wash your jeans with.
